SESSIONS.... THURSDAY.... This is the BIG day... the true beginning of all the fun and excitement! Here's what I will have on tap for Thursday: 9:00-10:00 a.m. Kick-Off session - OMG we cannot miss this. All the attendees are there, the music is rocking, and the excitement builds for the beginning of a great convention. Speeches, news, performances by instructors and musical guests.... goosebumps and tears all within an hour. 12:00-1:30 p.m. Master Class - As Beto himself describes it, a Zumba Master Class is much more than the usual Zumba class. These classes are led by a special guest instructor or group of instructors. It's a session not to be missed. This session I'm attending will be led by ZES Nick Logrea, which I have not had the opportunity to see before, but I've heard amazing things! 2:30-5:30 p.m. Personalized Feedback - This is a small, intimate session that gives instructors the opportunity to teach a song and be provided with tips and support in the areas ...
SESSIONS  Now that you have "seen" what convention is like from the videos, let me share with you the schedule of sessions I have registered for. Each week I will preview one day's worth of sessions. While we arrive on Tuesday to get settled in, Wednesday we have signed up for the "Extended Convention Experience", which will include a full Master Class that will be led by a team of Zumba Jammers*. After the Master Class there will be a "Mega ZIN Jam" where we'll learn several routines that were performed in the Master Class as well as being able to network with fellow instructors, find inspiration and get personal feedback. This session will be four hours of dancing, sweating and learning but oh so fun! *What is a Zumba Jammer? A Zumba Jammer (or ZJ for short) is a Zumba instructor who has been handpicked by the creator of Zumba, Beto Perez and licensed by Zumba to host Jam Sessions, which are sessions where jammers will teach their own choreograph...
KEEP WITH TRADITION? So Anna and I are discussing a possible change to one of our traditions. Now, mind you, I am huge on tradition. And if it works, it works and why change it, right? Traditionally, after the closing ceremony on the last day of convention we have a late check out and then Uber over to the Hyatt that is AT the Orlando Airport, for our last night before our flights on Monday morning. This allows us to relax and unwind for just a bit away from the craziness of the convention, reflect on our experience, and have one last night of fun before we both depart.  We always go down to the terminal and have our "last supper" at the Panda Express, taking our to go meals up to a quiet area of the hotel, overlooking the runway, sit and eat and just enjoy the rest and the peace and quiet after a week of hustle and bustle. Afterwards we go back down to the terminal and walk around the shops (99.9% of the time it's Anna buying this and that and I'm holding stuff for h...
And this week is our final week of looking back at previous conventions... the 2019 convention was the last one that was held due to the pandemic hitting us in 2020 and the unfortunate cancellation of the 2020 convention [insert very sad face here!] For me 2019 was a very "educational" convention... I learned so much that I have brought to our classes. Enjoy!  Click here to view.
